NOTICE TO CLIENTS: USDA Eligibility Changes Effective May 22, 2025 (Click to Expand)
Hebron Food Pantry is implementing required changes based on new USDA guidelines. Please read carefully, as these updates affect how we provide food assistance:
1. USDA Income Eligibility (Feb 2026)
- Clients must self-declare income eligibility for USDA foods.
- If you meet the income criteria, USDA foods will be provided.
2. Zip Code & Residency
- You must provide your zip code during registration.
- Residency eligibility will be determined based on Hebron’s service area.
3. If You Live Outside Our Service Area
- You will receive a pre-packed emergency bag of USDA-approved foods.
- We will also help connect you with food pantries closer to your residence.
4. If You Meet BOTH USDA Income and Residency Eligibility
- You will receive USDA and non-USDA foods.
5. If You Do NOT Meet USDA Income Eligibility
- You will receive non-USDA foods only.
6. Proof of Address Requirements
- If you are within our service area, you must complete our application and provide proof of address.
- Accepted documents include: phone bill, utility bill, lease agreement, or a notarized letter.
- Do NOT bring photo IDs, passports, Social Security cards, or other sensitive documentation—USDA prohibits us from requesting them.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to comply with federal guidelines and continue serving our community with dignity and care.
💙 A quick note about our intake process…
If you’ve recently completed a new client application, thank you for reaching out to Hebron Food Pantry. We know asking for help isn’t easy, and we’re committed to helping every family we can.
To ensure fairness, every new intake is processed in the order it is received. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you to schedule your first appointment.
Please refrain from calling immediately after submitting your application or coming to the pantry without an appointment. Doing so will not move your application ahead in the process and takes valuable time away from processing new intakes for everyone.
Many people don’t realize that new client intakes and scheduling are coordinated by just two people. At the same time, we’re serving hundreds of families each week, coordinating volunteers, receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and responding to the daily needs of our community.
We understand the urgency of your situation, and every application matters to us. We ask for your patience as we work through each intake carefully, fairly, and in the order it was received.
Thank you for your understanding and for respecting the process. It allows us to serve every family with the dignity, fairness, and care they deserve. ❤️
